Employment for Employees.

If you are struggling with an issue at work, it is essential to take advice at an early stage. We will ensure that you understand your legal rights and the options available to you or the steps that you need to take to protect your position.

In our experience, talking through your circumstances and concerns with someone who has seen and advised on similar situations many times before, immediately reduces your anxiety and provides clarity and peace of mind.

Services for employees

Most situations are resolved amicably. If that can’t be achieved, we can guide you through your options and your realistic prospects of succeeding in an Employment Tribunal claim. Whilst claims will usually be a last resort, if needed we can prepare, submit and handle the legal aspects of your claim, including representation at any hearings.

If you are offered a settlement agreement by your employer, you will be required to take legal advice on the agreement before you accept the terms. The employer usually pays at least a contribution towards your legal costs which minimises, and sometimes removes, any personal liability for legal costs. we advise never to accept the first offer – there is often room for negotiation to improve the outcome.

You will find us friendly, easy to understand and efficient at moving your matter along to a conclusion. Click the tab on the right hand side of this page to see what other clients have said about us and the services we have provided to them.

We can advise on all aspects of employment law including:

  • Grievances and disciplinary issues
  • Redundancy
  • Contracts, policies and procedures
  • Harassment and bullying
  • Whistleblowing
  • Discrimination
  • Performance management
  • Sickness management
  • Restrictive covenants
  • Settlement agreements

Our first telephone conversation will always be free of charge. If further advice is required, our basis of charging will be agreed with you in advance, whether that is a fixed fee, a capped rate fee (you pay for our time up to an agreed maximum) or fees based on the amount of time spent advising you.

If your work involves an Employment Tribunal claim, your legal costs may be met either in full or in part by your insurer if you have legal expenses insurance cover. You may not realise you have this cover so it is always worth checking your house insurance policy.

Our pricing policy provides more information on the likely costs of particular areas of work.
